Solution for Robotics
Robots designed to work around people need more than rigid shells. At TECHIC, we develop integrated soft modules that bring exterior expression, physical protection, and friendly human-rovot interaction together as one system.
CHALLENGE
A System Design Problem
A robot body is a multi-layer product in which every material and connection must work together. Depending on the body region, a module may combine a knitted outer skin, foam or 3D-printed lattice support, structural connectors, fastening systems and interfaces with rigid hardware. We develop these elements as a coordinated material stack, balancing surface quality, flexibility, support and assembly requirements. This reduces the need for clients to source and coordinate fabrics, internal structures, connectors and manufacturing partners separately.
APPROACH
Safety-Led Body-Design Perspective
Safety for both the user and the robot defines what a successful soft interface should achieve. We begin with the robot body—its geometry, movement and hardware constraints—and work outward. Structure translates these conditions into support, integration and protection, while material forms the interface people see, touch and experience.

SOLUTION
Flexible Body Modules
Material and structure are the design lenses; surface, support and attachment are the physical architecture; safety is the outcome.
We realize this approach through an integrated physical architecture of surface, support and attachment built around the robot body. Surface defines the skin and contact layer, support provides form, compliance and cushioning, and attachment connects the soft system to the hardware. Sensing and electronic components can be embedded across this architecture where required.
Projects may begin with one body region or a broader full-body exterior concept. After defining hardware constraints, motion requirements and performance targets, we develop material combinations and physical prototypes for fit, movement and assembly evaluation before supporting supplier coordination, production development and final delivery. Drawing on our automotive CMF and material development experience, we connect design intent with materials, engineering and production, helping robotics teams move from an initial surface concept to a finished, testable soft module.
